The area affected by the intervention is located in the upper part of Via Fanti in Genoa Sampierdarena in a free terraced lot currently in a state of abandonment; it’s located near the Hospital Villa Scassi and is well served by public services network.

The project proposes a general arrangement of the area with the construction of a new RSA consists in three floors above ground and a basement with adjacent public garden with access from Via Fanti. The health facility is fully fenced and has, on the west side, two protected external entrances, one pedestrian and one driveway. The pedestrian access leads, through a porch, to the main entrance of the structure. The driveway allows you to reach the outdoor parking spaces reserved for visitors and the parking in the basement to which is reserved for the staff of the structure.

Each floor consists of a module with the rooms distributed in the side wings and a central area dedicated to living, dining and socializing, facilitating control and assistance to activities.

The area intended for vertical connections guaranteed by the stairwell is in a central position. An hospital lift can also be used in the event of fire and two lifts suitable for use by disabled people in terms of size and characteristics.

At the north and south end of the building there are safety staircases, sized in compliance with specific sector regulations and directly accessible from the distribution corridors.
The parking lot, the kitchen, the technical and service rooms are located in the basement.
The project involves the construction of large garden terraces on the first floor and the roofing floor, whilst on the second floor there are large balconies overlooking the guest rooms facing east.

The entire structure is designed without architectural barriers, so all spaces and services inside and outside are safe and accessible.

The project also includes the installation of solar panels for the production of sanitary water and, as required by current legislation, a public green area with seasonal flowering beds, trees, shrubs and green carpets, a children's play area and paths with slopes made of the 8% with draining materials.

The exclusive outdoor area of the residential structure will be separated from the public green area with appropriate fences.
